Drug Name - Nimotop (Nimodipine)
How Taken - This medication is used to improve symptoms caused by spasms as a result of a brain hemorrhage (ruptured blood vessels).
Drug Uses - Take this medication exactly as prescribed. If the capsules can not be swallowed, the liquid inside the capsule may be taken out and given through a feeding tube. For best results, this medication must be started within 4 days of the brain hemorrhage and given every 4 hours for 3 weeks.
Drug Class & Mechanism - Nimotop (nimodipine) belongs to the class of pharmacological agents known as calcium channel blockers.
Missed Dose - Try to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. Do not "double-up" the dose to catch up.
Storage - Store this medication at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children.
